CAORLE - This picturesque romantic town with its old fishing tradition was founded 2000 years ago by the old Romans. The town is situated in the Venetian Bay on the northeastern coast of Italy and is about 50 km far from Venice. The historical centre of Caorle with the Romanesque - Byzantine cathedral and belfry, narrow alleyways and small squares will enable you to enjoy the holiday on the beach as well as getting to know the culture and history of the region of Veneto. Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote in this oasis of tranquillity. One of the interesting attractions is a cruise by barge to the near lagoon - to see the fishing dwellings that have remained an old character and where you can try fresh fish specialities. From the nearest port it is possible to join a cruise to Venice or sail along the seaside and admire the panorama of the town lights in the evening-hours. For those who like sports there is a big area with tennis courts, golf course, bowling facilities, a large water park with various water slides, toboggans and other attractions that will charm both children and adults.
Travel tips: Besides visiting on of the jewels of Italy - Venice - you can make trips to other culture and art centres of the region: Verona, Vicenza, Padova, Treviso and Terst.
