CALABRIA The southernmost part of the Apennine peninsula with beautiful nature and mostly mountainous countryside, with clear seas and clean beaches. If you travel to this part of Italy in May or June, you will enjoy temperatures that reach 30 °C and in July and August 40 °C.
SCALEA - one of the biggest and oldest towns in the area of Riviera dei Cedri. Scalea is divided into two parts: Scalea Vecchia - the old part of the town - located on a hill with a Norman castle, narrow alleyways and churches; and Scalea Nuova - the new part with many hotels, shops, bars, coffee bars, discotheques and other cultural and sports facilities. Every Monday morning there is a market in Scalea.
TROPEA is one of the most visited places in Calabria that lies between the bay of St. Euphemius and Gioia Tauro. There are many historical monuments from the Greek-roman period, for example the Norman Cathedral from the 11th century, St. Maria church, St. Francisco from Assisi church and many other churches, chapels and palaces in narrow alleys that create the typical atmosphere of the town. Many entertaining pubs and restaurants that offer local food specialities, clear sea anf beaches with white sand decorated with rocky cliffs add to the unforgettable holiday atmosphere of Italy.
BRANCALEONE is a picturesque town in the southern part of Aspromonte, 60 km from the former capital of Calabria - Reggio di Calabria and 60 km far from Sicily. It consists of coastal part with coffee bars, bars and tropical restaurants and of the historical centre, which lies about 3 km far from the coast. Bergamots grow in this area - subtropical trees, which are used in food and perfume industry. However, this aromatic fruit is also used for producing a local liqueur and bergamot oil that is effective for healing various ailments.
PRAIA A MARE is a modern tourist town, which is situated in the northern part of Calabria on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast. One part of Praia A Mare is surrounded with sea and mountains shield the other. Black sandy-pebble beach of volcanic origin is 5 km long and stretches along the whole town. The island of Dino might be considered a tourist attraction for its famous caves – above all Azure cave and Lion cave. One of the biggest Aquaparks in southern Italy is situated in Praia A Mare too. Every Thursday a big market takes place in the town.
SAN NICOLA ARCELLA is a small antic town lying above the sea. It offers a fabulous view of the coast with many bays and the island of Dino. This small town is suitable for all those who desire a peaceful holiday on small sandy and pebble beaches bordered with high rocky cliffs.
